Internship Job Description:

he Red Hat Marketing team is looking for a Red Hat Academy Intern to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work alongside our Global Learning Services (GLS) team focused on Red Hat Academy (RHA) initiatives to implement pivotal enhancements which maximize RHA program impact and effective delivery to the student learner. You’ll focus on identifying key areas of opportunity to offer value to university and college students and use your experience and background to help guide the program direction. As a Red Hat Academy Intern, you will have a unique opportunity to learn about open source software and emerging technologies while helping promote thought leadership on Red Hat’s approach within the higher education sector.

Primary job responsibilities
Engage in the branding and development efforts of the RHA program to position strategic focus on engaging student population
Communicate and provide insights into university and college student experience to improve upon our best practices and enhance RHA learner experience
Engage with curriculum and technical teams to implement pivotal enhancements which will maximize program impact and effective delivery
Identify and analyze drivers which influence student learner decisions and collaborate on ways to track and assess RHA student success and define program achievement
Collaborate with engineers and developers to help develop creative solutions for our academic partners which will enrich learning experience for RHA students
Research and engage with various university, college, and high school students to transform findings into resources which will support RHA program partners and program delivery
Become proficient in the Red Hat OpenShift portfolio to provide guidance on messaging and positions to higher-education learners
Required skills
Completed 1+ Red Hat Academy course(s) at respective academic institution
Effective communication skills with the ability to explain and translate complex technology concepts into simple communications
Creative and capable of working on your own and as part of a globally distributed team
Desire to collaborate with other team members to solve problems
Expansive involvement with various university or college clubs and programs focused on IT-related interests
Demonstrated experience working on academic computer science or technology project team to build or construct finished technical offering or concept
Red Hat certifications are a plus
Cloud and microservices knowledge is a plus
