Internship Job Description:
Lindy Biosciences is a development-stage company addressing formulation challenges in biologics. Our proprietary technology produces spherical, dense, stable particles of a biologic, ideal for enabling high-concentration subcutaneous delivery. This improves patient compliance, decreases costs, and enables new molecules to reach the market.
The intern will be trained in our core technology, Microglassification™, and will assist in developing suspension formulations. This may include conducting analytical assays on powders (Karl Fisher titration, GC, particle size analysis), suspensions (rheology), and protein samples (e.g., UV-Vis, SEC, ELISA).
As a start-up, we have a small, dedicated team, passionate about improving the drug delivery experience for patients.
This internship requires a commitment of 20 hours per week over 14 weeks, and is available starting in May.
This internship is supported in part by a grant from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center through the Industrial Internship Program.
We are seeking candidates at an advanced undergraduate or graduate level with a background in biomedical engineering, materials science (biomaterials), pharmaceutical science, or similar field. Candidate must have lab experience, be able to work independently, and be very detailed-oriented. Must have a good understanding of experimental design. Essential lab skills include pipetting, weighing, mixing solutions, and detailed record-keeping. Candidate will assist in the lab, following established protocols, and may help develop new protocols, design experiments, and maintain lab equipment.
Experience with the following is not required, but beneficial: optical microscopy, digital imaging (ImageJ analysis), spectroscopy (UV-Vis, FTIR), protein analytical assays, enzymatic assays, rheology.
