SmarterHQ is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) Intern to join its marketing team. A Business Development Representative (BDR) is typically responsible for prospecting target accounts with the goals of establishing two-way communication and ultimately generating qualified sales opportunities. Reporting to the Sr. Business Development Manager, you will support the marketing team by completing assigned projects, putting your new prospecting skills into practice (when applicable), and learning about business development and marketing at a Tech company. You will spend approximately 70% of your time on assigned projects and 30% on prospecting activities.

This role will be based in our Indianapolis, IN office.
More specifically, you will:
Conduct research projects for accounts and contacts
Enter information into spreadsheets or Salesforce (CRM)
Append account, contact, and lead information in Salesforce
Prepare direct mail lists and assemble direct mail kits
Monitor reports in Salesforce
Cold call prospects at assigned accounts or from assigned lists
Email prospects at assigned accounts or from assigned lists
Use other creative prospecting methods, such as direct mail
Shadow the Sr. Business Development Manager
Other responsibilities include:
Carrying yourself professionally and representing the company in a positive and professional way
Meeting and exceeding requirements as assigned by the Sr. Business Development Manager
Being yourself, learning, working hard, and having fun
Putting up with mediocre humor from the Sr. Business Development Manager

Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or relevant field
Able to learn and internalize information quickly
