Gameflo is a Black-owned gaming company building communities by empowering people on their own terms and to their own abilities. We design culturally-relevant games from physical card games to digital experiences. We’re mostly known for developing PickUp Basketball, which met its goal on Kickstarter in 25 hours!

Internship Job Description:

Gameflo is working on making its foray into more digital experiences. We take an experimental, game-first approach in everything we do and we’re looking for a creative and technical product development intern to help us out on a variety of initiatives. These range from creating microgames, mods in Tabletop Simulator, Discord integrations, web applications, and more! This will involve interacting with a variety of technologies, and being comfortable jumping into the deep end. Position is remote.

At Gameflo, you will:

Assist the lead developer in all aspects of software design and implementation
Conduct research and proofs-of-concepts on various technologies
Ideate on new game concepts and mechanics
Create ad-hoc technical solutions as needed

Skills and Requirements

We expect to see:

Programming skills in a language of your choice
Self-motivating, self-directing, and a great communicator (written and oral). You thrive in an environment that grants you a lot of autonomy to explore creative solutions.
Excellent problem solving skills. You excel at analyzing and solving problems using technology.
Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly

We like to see one of the below (but not at all required):

Graphic design Experience
Experience developing a game on any platform (including physical)
Familiarity with 3D modeling
