Launch Chapel Hill

Position Title: Brand & Storytelling Intern
Company Description: Launch Chapel Hill turns breakthroughs into businesses. We are the Triangle’s proving ground for deep tech founders building innovative solutions in enterprise, health, and defense. Since 2013, we have helped founders turn bold ideas into companies that raise capital, earn revenue, and stay in North Carolina. Today we help deep tech founders win their first paying customer.

Our programs support founders from first idea to first customer, from student founders to university researchers to startups selling to enterprise buyers. We work alongside partners including KPMG, Innovate Carolina at UNC, and the Town of Chapel Hill. Launch is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit based at The Junction in Chapel Hill.

Every Launch intern supports Launch Powered by KPMG, the deep tech accelerator we run with KPMG each spring. You will gain exposure to KPMG leaders and meet innovators across a range of industries. You will also plug into the innovation ecosystem at UNC and across the Triangle and North Carolina.

This internship is a strong fit for students interested in entrepreneurship, innovation and emerging technology, nonprofits, or organizations that support entrepreneurs.

Internship Job Description:

Over the next three years, we want Launch’s work to be widely known and recognized across the Triangle and, increasingly, across the country. In 2025, we sharpened our focus on deep tech founders building in biotech, AI, robotics, advanced manufacturing, and more. Success looks different for each of them, whether it is a shorter path to market, a new partnership, or a first customer. You will turn those wins into a clear, concise story about the value Launch brings across our companies and programs. You will review our existing assets, study how others in our space tell their story, and shape how we tell ours. Your work will build interest among prospective founders, mentors, and funders, and will define Launch’s look, feel, and voice across our website, newsletter, LinkedIn, and partner materials.

What you’ll do

• Review Launch’s existing stories, content, and brand assets, and identify what is working and what is missing.

• Study how leading accelerators, investors, and innovation organizations tell their story, and bring back what resonates.

• Gather founder wins across our programs, from a shorter path to market to a new partnership or fi rst customer, and turn them into short, compelling stories.

• Shape a clear, concise story about the value Launch brings across our portfolio of companies and programs.

• Bring that story to life across the website revamp, newsletter, LinkedIn, and materials for corporate and philanthropic partners.

• Capture photos, video, and founder moments from our spring Launch Powered by KPMG cohort and other events.

• Work with the Community & Events Lead on how events look and feel, and give the Venture & Partnerships Analyst the stories that make partnership materials persuasive.
