Internship Job Description:

Are you a student with a passion for data and an ambitious project idea—but not the hardware to pull it off? This summer, we’re offering a unique Data Science Internship that gives you access to powerful high-RAM and GPU machines so you can build something impressive and publish it under your own name.
This is a technical, self-directed internship focused on helping you create a portfolio-quality project that demonstrates your skills, interests, and creativity. You’ll choose a topic you’re passionate about, use our infrastructure to explore it at scale, and write a blog post (or series) showcasing your work.
This is your chance to:
Build a standout portfolio piece that goes beyond coursework
Get hands-on experience with real infrastructure used in industry
Share your findings publicly—everything you publish is under your name
Explore data science in a way that aligns with your academic or career goals
Example projects you could do:
Analyze terabytes of genomic data to uncover patterns in population health
Model election outcomes with simulations like Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight
Use machine learning to study housing market trends using public datasets
Generate and visualize AI art using large diffusion models
Build a recommender system using movie or book data at massive scale

What we’re looking for:

This internship is unpaid, remote, and flexible. We’ll have a few in-person meetups in May 2027 to help you get started, but from there, you’re free to travel or work other jobs—many interns fit this alongside part-time work. (If you’re working full-time at a summer camp or similar, time might be too tight.)
